Who Am I?
In today's society it is strongly encouraged that we should have a reaction for everything someone says or does. We “pop off” at any given notice, we are jealous, we think only of ourselves, and we oppose anyone in authority with a strong attitude of “tell it to the hand cuz I ain't trying to hear all of that.” For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction is Newton’s Law, but is this the way God intended for us to act? Were we created to be in strife with one another, or be jealous of each other? Were we created to live a life of bondage to our feelings and desires?
Surely not! We were created to live free from the captivity of our flesh or for this particular discussion; flesh will be called your feelings. Let’s be clear, there is nothing wrong with having feelings, they are real but they are also unreliable. Do we know the way in which God would have us to respond to our feelings? Do we know how to identify the origin of these feelings? Are they from a place of insecurity, pride, rejection, jealousy or a combination of places? We need as a society need to explore beneath the surface of our emotions and launch into the depths of our souls to discover Who I Am!
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
